We’re going to have a "BLOCK" party and are closing down part of Mercer Street to create a fun and safe gathering place to watch the Eclipse! We’ll have music, food, eclipse-related vendors and more! Visitors can shop at Mercer Street stores, listen to music, see demonstrations and more!

Because this total solar eclipse is such a unique event, we can expect a large number of visitors to Dripping Springs, not only to watch the once-in-a-lifetime event in our city, but also as people travel through our area to get to other eclipse destinations. In researching other cities that have been in a totality of a solar eclipse, we estimate our population during that time could be 3-4 times what it normally is.

There is a lot of planning needed and costs associated with preparing for all of these visitors. But MOSTLY, there are A LOT OF OPPORTUNITIES for businesses and organizations to get their brand before thousands of people! To help offset the expenses, the City of Dripping Springs is providing sponsorship opportunities for area businesses!
